Justin H. Min, who gained fame for playing the character of Ben Hargreeves in the show The Umbrella Academy, is now getting his first lead role after the show finished airing on Netflix. Min is going to features in the movie called Getaway which will be directed by Jason Biggs the actor of American Pie. According to trailers, one can expect comedy thriller with the great cast that now includes Meaghan Rath, Arturo Castro, and Anna Konkle.
Plot Overview: Getaway Movie
Getaway revolves around Kevin Stanwell an actor who becomes an over night celebrity after he is featured in erectile dysfunction commercials. Believing that he is coming up short with his wife, Suzie (Rath), Kevin decides to renew their passion with a trip to the Adirondack Mountains. To spice things up a bit he calls his actor buddy Ernie (Castro) to pretend to rob his house in order to give the heroic save in front of Suzie. However the situation gets worse and the couple finds himself and herself in the middle of murder mystery.
The film’s premise – a mix of comedy and horror with hints of romance – suggests a brand new ‘spin’ on the tried-and-tested ‘romantic comedy.’
Directed by Joseph Taglieri at present, Getaway has the script written by Jamie Napoli and Joshua Paul Johnson and the shooting of the film has been taken place in Canada. The following are the producers of the film; Brad Krevoy, Charles Cohen, Jimmy Philémond-Montout and David Anselmo while Amy Krell is the executive producer.
In a statement about his directorial debut, Biggs expressed his excitement: “I am absolutely thrilled to be making my directorial debut with the genre-bending Getaway… I knew that it would be an exciting challenge to bring this unique story to
life.”
Moreover, Getaway is a new experience in Min’s acting career. Min who is currently known for his role in the Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy has been active and had his recent feature in The Greatest Hits which was showcased at SXSW in March. Similarly, when Min described his contribution to that movie, he said that when he wrote the story of time travel through music, it had a ‘real’ feel to him because music such as classic brings back memories of the past.
That Min is in Getaway makes him an artist to consider watch as he ventures from the sci-fi realm of the Umbrella Academy. Presenting an engaging storyline, an able star cast and having the newly minted director, Jason Biggs Getaway is poised to be one blockbuster.
