Tina Knowles Files for Divorce From Richard Lawson

The world-famous fashion designer Tina Knowles-Lawson, who is also the mother of Beyonce and Solange Knowles, has filed for divorce from her husband Richard Lawson. The 69-year-old famous person filed for divorce on Wednesday, alleging irreconcilable differences, and identified their date of separation as Tuesday, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. After a charming wedding ceremony aboard a yacht in Newport Beach, California, on April 12, 2015, the pair had been married for eight years. Both Tina and Richard had previously been married; their relationship had begun in 2013.

After more than three decades of marriage, Tina and Mathew Knowles, the father of Beyonce and Solange, decided to end their relationship in 2009. After completing their divorce in 2011, Tina fell in love once more with Richard Lawson.

But as Tina’s final Instagram post with Richard, which included a picture from a Vanity Fair Oscar Party, was released in March, there seemed to be a probable break in their relationship. Fans and followers began to speculate because to the lack of recent public appearances.

Tina had freely complimented her relationship with Richard during their marriage, highlighting their close bond. She praised him during an interview on the Tamron Hall Show in April of last year, saying that their 40-year reunion felt like a gift from God. After the psychological toll of her last divorce, Tina had longed for love and companionship, and when she reunited with Richard, she thought it was a sign from God.

Tina has asked the court to put an end to any chance of spousal support for either side while the divorce process progresses and has stated her desire to have her name changed back to Celestine Knowles. A representative for Tina Knowles-Lawson has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the situation. The decision to dissolve a marriage is clearly a very personal one, and the couple’s supporters and well-wishers are mindful of their desire for privacy during this trying period.
