Where was [Lifetime] My Mother Stole My Life Filmed?

Date:

My Mother Stole My Life, a thriller on Lifetime directed by Roxanne Boisvert, is a gripping look at family, trust and staying alive. A mother steals her estranged daughter’s identity to get away from an abusive boyfriend in the story. The mother faces an even greater danger when her past comes back to haunt her. She leaves her daughter to find the truth and save her. This movie coming out in 2024 stars Patrice Goodman and Blaise Crocker and is full of surprises and deep emotions.

Aside from the interesting plot, the movie also draws people in with its beautiful and moody locations. Let’s find out where this Lifetime thriller came from.

Ottawa, Ontario, was used for filming.

The movie My Mother Stole My Life was mostly shot in Ottawa, Ontario, which is the capital of Canada. Ottawa was the perfect place for the movie’s dramatic-scenes because it is known for its beautiful neighborhoods and varied urban landscapes. The city was a natural choice for production because it has a thriving film industry with experienced professionals and incentives for filmmakers.

Its mix of old buildings and new scenery helps filmmakers make worlds that feel real and epic, which makes it a popular place for drama and thriller films.

Wakefield, Ontario, Canada

Aside from that, the crew also went to Wakefield, a cute village 20 miles north of Ottawa. The peaceful wilderness in Wakefield, which was between the Gatineau and La Pêche rivers, was very different from the intense and emotional story. The movie was shot from April 15 to April 19, and people in the area were involved. Residents were asked to play extras in the movie including police officers, pedestrians, and people walking down the street.

The cast and crew praised Wakefield’s beautiful-scenery and friendly service. Actor Reon Lucas wrote on Instagram that he loved the place and called Wakefield a “beautiful little town.” He also praised the village and Ottawa’s film professionals for making the place feel warm and friendly.

The movie My Mother Stole My Life was shot from April 6, 2024, to April 21, 2024, which is only 15 days. The movie’s production team had to work hard to balance its intense themes with its tight schedule. The cast and crew worked hard and were professional, which helped them make a story that felt real and emotional.

With help from writers Melissa Cassera and ML Roberts, director Roxanne Boisvert used Ottawa and Wakefield to create a world that fits the movie’s tension and humanity. Not only did these settings make the visual storytelling better, they also helped make the movie feel more real.

Location is a very important part of telling a storyand My Mother Stole My Life shows this through the charming city of Ottawa and the peaceful beauty of Wakefield. The beautiful Canadian settings gave the movie depth and personality, making it a treat for the eyes and the heart.
