Why Are the Avengers Not in ‘Secret Invasion’?

0

The revelation that the Avengers no longer exist in the MCU was a major one in Secret Invasion. This is a major turning moment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s grand story. After the events of Avengers: Endgame, the heroes have decided to disband their greatest team for reasons that, to be honest, don’t make a whole lot of sense.

Our most recent episode of Secret Invasion focuses on just that topic. We sift through other recent MCU series and movies to see how they represent this significant change in the MCU and try to piece it together.

Why Are the Avengers Not in ‘Secret Invasion’?

For a variety of reasons, the Avengers are absent from the “Secret Invasion” television series. First, the original Avengers, who helped save the world in earlier conflicts, have either retired or have suffered other fates. Black Widow sacrificed herself, Captain America went back in time to live a fulfilling life, Iron Man offered himself as a sacrifice, Thor left Earth, Hawkeye retired, and the fate of the Hulk is up in the air. In terms of the new Avengers, Marvel is presently concentrating on creating their narratives and introducing supporting characters, so their assembling may take place in upcoming films like “Avengers: Kang Dynasty.”

Second, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who has always been the driving force behind the Avengers, is the subject of the show. The plot focuses on Fury’s lone struggle against the Skrull invaders’ shape-shifting abilities while showcasing his skills and foresight. The Avengers are involved in the comic book adaptation of “Secret Invasion,” but the television show takes a different tack by focusing on Fury’s initiatives.

Fury is not fighting alone in this conflict because the Avengers are not present. Fury is aided in his fight against the Skrulls by individuals including War Machine (played by Don Cheadle), Maria Hill, Everett Ross, and Skrull leader Talos. To further develop the plot, new characters including G’iah (Emilia Clarke), Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), and Sonya Falsworth (Olivia Colman) will be added.

“Secret Invasion” promises to explain Fury’s personality, the Skrulls’ intentions, and their invasion of Earth. The consequences of earlier pledges made to the Skrulls being broken and the subsequent invasion will be explored in the series. The lines between friend and foe are hazy in this spy-thriller drama, which will test viewers’ ability to put their trust in absolutely nothing or anyone. Fury’s cunning and strategic skills make him a strong force to be reckoned with in the struggle to save humanity, even in the absence of the Avengers.
